Carers’ Rights: An Introduction to Carers’ Rights 2nd December 2024

Carer workshops

What do people mean when they talk about carers rights? And how can carers access these rights? This workshop will provide an introduction to the different rights of unpaid carers, including those set out in legislation such as the Carers (Scotland) Act and Self-directed Support Act, and will increase carers’ confidence and knowledge to seek out these rights.

This workshop is aimed at unpaid carers of people living with dementia and also for people working with carers, enabling participants to increase their knowledge of carers’ rights and support available.

By the end of this workshop:

• You will have had an introduction to the main areas of carers rights

• You will understand how to seek further help with these rights if need be

This training is free. Sessions are limited to 16 participants. Organisations may send more than one participant: these must be registered separately and if there is excess demand, a cap of two participants per organisation may be applied. If you would like to organise a video conference session for your whole group at a different time, please email dementiatraining@agescotland.org.uk

The session will take place via video conference (Zoom) and the joining instructions will be sent to you in advance of the session. Please contact dementiatraining@agescotland.org.uk if you have any questions.
