Supporting older people to age well: training for paid-staff and volunteers
We offer interactive training to boost the ability of paid-staff and volunteers in older people's groups and services to support their members and service users to age well.
The training lasts 3-hours, with topics covered including physical activity, social connection, food and drink, emotional wellbeing and keeping the brain healthy. The session includes:
- An introduction to wellbeing in later life,
- An opportunity to reflect on what you already do to support older people to age well, with reference to research evidence, and what more you might do,
- Knowledge, activities, and ideas that you can apply to enhance the health and wellbeing of the older people you support.
The topics covered include physical activity, social connection, food and drink, emotional wellbeing and keeping the brain healthy. The workshop is free of charge for organisations and services in Scotland.
