Dementia and LGBTQ+ Communities - 18th February
Do you work or volunteer with a community group or service that supports older people? Our free training can boost your ability to include and support people living with dementia.
Our Dementia and LGBTQ+ communities workshop aims to enable you to:
- Gain an understanding of how the experience of people living with dementia and their unpaid carers may be different if they if they are part of the LGBTQ+ community.
- Encourage exploration of ways your practice and your service can become more inclusive and supportive
Training is free. Sessions are limited to 16 participants. Organisations may send more than one participant: these must be registered separately and if there is excess demand a cap of two participants per organisation may be applied. If you would like to organise a video conference session for your whole group at a different time, please email dementiatraining@agescotland.org.uk
The session will take place via video conference and the joining instructions will be sent to you in advance of the session.
If you have not previously attended one of our dementia courses, we recommend first undertaking one of the 'Dementia Awareness' workshops we run (either 2 or 3 hours), as this is a great introduction to the topic!
