Dementia Awareness Training
We offer free dementia awareness training for Age Scotland members, older people’s clubs and groups and community groups across Scotland.
Our interactive training looks at how understand the signs and symptoms of dementia, how to communicate with people living with dementia, how best to include and support them and how to reduce the risks of developing dementia.
The session lasts between 2-3 hours and cover a wide range of topics relevant to understanding dementia and being inclusive of people living with dementia, including:
- What is dementia?
- Understanding the brain and the signs and symptoms of dementia
- Diagnosis and support
- Communication
- Inclusion and stigma
- Prevention and living well with dementia
Our training is for groups of 8-16 people and can be delivered online or in person.
We can run a session for your organisation which is tailored to your requirements.
