Age Scotland welcomes new Trustees to further strengthen its Board

The Scottish charity for older people has announced the recruitment of three new Trustees and the appointment of a new independent member of its Audit and Risk Committee.

Age Scotland’s appointment of Carolyne Hair, Sarah Secombes and Helen Waddell to its Board of Trustees will enhance its fundraising, legal and strategic leadership and expertise as the charity grows. The charity has also appointed Heather-Anne Barton to its Audit and Risk Committee.

  • Carolyne Hair joins the Board of Trustees bringing with her significant legal experience advising a range of Scottish and international clients as a Partner at the leading global law firm, DLA Piper.
  • Sarah Secombes is Head of Public Fundraising at Myeloma UK. Sarah brings significant experience in Charity Fundraising strategy and implementation and particularly in Community and Legacy fundraising. She was previously at CHAS, Childrens Hospices Across Scotland.
  • Helen Waddell is a senior leader in financial services at Lloyds Banking Group and joins as a trustee bringing extensive experience in large organisational change in senior operational and consumer facing roles.
  • Heather-Anne Barton, a solicitor with 30 years of experience in diverse industry sectors such as banking, media and sport, joins the charity as an independent member of its Audit and Risk Committee.

Helen Waddell said:

Having experienced first-hand the challenges a family face supporting older family members, I’m keen to do all I can to support the team at Age Scotland achieve their ambitions and raise awareness of all the good work they do to support older people in our communities."
