Have your say in Age Scotland’s national Housing and Energy Survey

Age Scotland is encouraging older people across Scotland to have their voices heard in a new National Housing and Energy Survey.
The Scottish charity for older people is seeking the views and experiences of people aged 50+ about their current home, future housing intentions and suitability.
They are also looking to hear about home accessibility needs, views on local community, the cost of living, paying for household energy, impacts from changes to the Winter Fuel Payment, and home energy efficiency measures.
As a thank you, at the end of the questionnaire participants will be given the opportunity to enter a prize draw where ten participants will each win £50 cash.
The survey can be completed online at www.age.scot/housingsurvey, with paper copies available on request.
Age Scotland’s Chief Executive, Katherine Crawford, said:
“Older people should be able to live well and safely in their own homes for as long as they want to and are able, but this will only be possible if we understand the suitability of current housing options and how these options align with older people’s needs and priorities. Energy costs and being able to heat their home comfortably continue to be key issues for older people, and we hope this survey will also help us find out more about people’s experiences and what more could be done to support older households.
“With that in mind, we’re hoping to hear from as many people aged 50+ as possible through this survey.
“The insight and experiences you can offer on the variety of questions we have will be incredibly valuable in helping provide both national and local government, and energy companies with new evidence to help inform their future policies and ensure that the needs of Scotland’s older population are well considered both now and in the future.”
