Age Scotland to offer age inclusive workplace trainings in Norfolk

Age Inclusion customer service

1 April 2025

Age Scotland is offering its age inclusive workplace programmes in East Anglia as part of a six-month pilot partnership with Age UK Norfolk.

The Scottish charity for older people delivers age inclusive workplace trainings online and in person with the aim of tackling ageism in the workplace. Among the issues covered are menopause awareness, age friendly customer service training, dementia awareness, age inclusive leadership and tackling unconscious bias.

The pilot programme with Age UK Norfolk, which begins in April, will allow businesses in East Anglia the opportunity to access the online workshops delivered by a team of experts.

Katherine Crawford, chief executive of Age Scotland, said:

“We welcome this exciting opportunity to partner with colleagues at Age UK Norfolk to expand the reach of our popular age inclusive workshops. Ensuring all workplaces are age inclusive is an important area of our work and we look forward to sharing these informative sessions.

“It is one of the first times we have offered these services outside Scotland and Age UK Norfolk’s partnership with North Norfolk Council and the Age Friendly North Norfolk initiative is the perfect means to deliver those online training sessions. We hope to share our knowledge about creating an age friendly workplace, covering a wide range of age-related work topics, with as many businesses as possible.”

Ann Donkin, chief executive of Age UK Norfolk, said:

“We are thrilled to partner with Age Scotland to deliver age friendly training courses to local organisations in Norfolk. This collaboration underscores our commitment to ensuring that Norfolk remains an inclusive and supportive place for older people to live, work and thrive.

“By equipping local organisations with the tools and knowledge to become age friendly, we can help create a community where older residents feel respected, valued and empowered. Together with Age Scotland we aim to make a lasting impact, driving positive change across Norfolk and beyond.”
