Age Scotland comment on pension triple lock commitment

Following the statement from the Prime Minister this afternoon that she has committed to reinstating the triple lock on the State Pension, Age Scotland's head of policy Adam Stachura said:

"It is good news that the Prime Minister and UK Government have stuck to their previous commitment to reinstate the triple lock on the State Pension. Rather than celebration, there is a feeling of great relief. But it shouldn't have needed to come to this.

"It has been a wholly unnecessary period of anxiety for pensioners who only want to receive what they are entitled to so they can try to weather this cost of living crisis. However, until this is signed, sealed and delivered in the Chancellor’s plan we cannot be sure that it is safe."
