Vamos Theatre raises vital funds to support Age Scotland

Age Scotland would like to thank Vamos Theatre for hosting a bucket collection at during the run of their Edinburgh Fringe Festival show, Finding Joy.

The team from Finding Joy, wanted to show their support for the work done by Age Scotland in promoting a vision of a country where everyone can love later life, something reflected in the themes of the show.

At every performance, Vamos held a bucket collection and audiences donated an amazing £569.47 over ten performances - the largest amount Age Scotland has ever counted from a bucket collection!

Rebeca Dickson, Events and Community Fundraiser from Age Scotland commented, "We are so grateful to Vamos Theatre and the team from Finding Joy for their support over August.  These much needed funds will help us tackle loneliness and isolation across Scotland.  Finding Joy explores the life of Joy, a woman who has a playful spirit, a love of dancing, and dementia.

Finding Joy has a delightful way of exploring Dementia from Joy's perspective. We see what she is seeing.  The play also, very subtly addresses what not to do when a person has dementia."
