Parliamentary briefing for Programme for Government 2016-17

Today the Scottish Parliament will debate the legislative programme for the next year. This is a key moment where Nicola Sturgeon will announce the Scottish Government's forthcoming bills. As MSPs consider the plans for new legislation in the year ahead, Age Scotland has highlighted some of the key issues for older people.  

The Charity is calling for concerted action to tackle loneliness which is a problem faced by too many people in Scotland, as well as a Warm Homes Bill and renewing our call for community transport to be included in the concessionary travel scheme. We have outlined these proposals in a briefing for MSPs and will continue to campaign on these important issues over the course of this Parliament.
