Housing Regulator launches consultation strategy
The Scottish Housing Regulator, the independent regulator of Housing Associations and local authority housing services in Scotland, has launched its Consultation and Involvement Strategy.
The strategy aims to enable the Regulator to involve tenants and those using social landlords' housing services in its work. New initiatives set out in the strategy include a National Panel of Tenants and Service Users and surveys of all Registered Tenant Organisations (RTOs), alongside regular dialogue with each RTO Regional Network. These will feedback directly to the Regulator on users' views and experiences and inform its activities in assessing landlords.
Greg McCracken, Age Scotland's Policy Officer, said: "This Strategy is a welcome means of engaging tenants and those who use the services of social landlords. It's important that older people are encouraged to engage both with their landlords and the Regulator through Tenant Participation Schemes, and we would encourage people to get involved to ensure their voices are heard."
