Charity appoints Interim Chief Executive
Age Scotland is happy to announce that Brian Sloan has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive following the departure of David Manion.
50-year-old Brian, whose background is in financial services, hospitality and retail, has for over a year been the Chairman of the Charity's social enterprise arm, Age Scotland Enterprises.
He has also been involved in strategic business development for Young Enterprise Scotland, charged with leading the promotion and expansion of enterprise into mainstream education.
Brian's financial experience included over a year as Head of Business Development with Capital Credit Union, Britain's fifth largest not-for-profit cooperative.
He is married with four children, active both as a participant (golf and squash) and a spectator in a variety of sports and was appointed by the Scottish Government as a member of the Edinburgh Children's Panel.
Brian has already started in the post of Interim Chief Executive, currently working one day a week with Age Scotland Enterprises and two with the Charity, increasing to four days a week for the Charity over the next few months.
He said: "I'm really looking forward to this challenge at a time when charities across the country are facing difficult circumstances.
"As the Chair of Age Scotland's Strategy Steering Group I am well aware of these circumstances and also cognisant of the need to bring on line new fundraising streams and establish a fresh movement recruitment channel to increase support for Age Scotland.
"Achieving these will be my first priority in this exciting post."Tweet
