Scottish Housing and Support Conference announced
Holding Onto The Positive is this year's theme for the Scottish Housing and Support Conference which takes place on Friday 5 October in Edinburgh in the Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor Hotel.
The SHASC Conference is a not-for-profit event which has been running for 23 years, supported by grant aid from the Scottish Government to encourage the participation of service users both as speakers and as delegates.
Their active input continues to sustain the event as a unique forum for views and ideas. Through networking SHASC aims to improve service delivery, policy and practice across Scotland.
At the conference, delegates will hear from service users, service providers and policy makers what they identify as some of the main issues for them; will look at some of the approaches and potential solutions being considered and being put into practice; will discuss the potential impact of Welfare Reform and will have the opportunity to feed back their views to the Scottish Government.
Conference session topics include:
Personalisation and SDS
Human rights
Brokering individual budgets
Impact of Welfare Reform on individuals and on services
Adaptations
Post-diagnostic dementia support
Scottish Social Housing Charter
Women with no recourse to public funds leaving abusive partners
Mental Health Strategy for Scotland.
