Menopause at Work

Woman chatting in office

In partnership with The University of Edinburgh Business School, we've designed a skills development workshop for line managers focused on menopause in the workplace

Women over 50 are now the fastest-growing segment of the workforce. However, 10% of menopausal women with challenging symptoms end up leaving their jobs, and 6 in 10 report that their symptoms negatively impact their working life.

Our 3-hour, interactive Menopause at Work: Tools and Techniques for Managers workshop for line managers equips them with the skills to respond to menopause in the workplace.  It provides tools and techniques to engage in menopause-related conversations, and lead effectively in an intergenerational team.

Workshop outcomes include:

  • A deeper understanding of menopause, its symptoms, and how to recognise them
  • Greater awareness of the current legal position regarding menopause at work
  • Skills to initiate or respond positively to menopause-related conversations
  • Guidance on fostering open communication without automatically linking it to performance
  • Knowledge of reasonable adjustments to support colleagues experiencing menopausal symptoms

It’s important to foster a culture of awareness and compassionate management in the workplace so women feel confident and comfortable in raising issues around their menopause or menstrual health
