An Introduction to Young Onset Dementia - 18th February
Sharing research, lived experience examples and discussions, this workshop will provide participants with an understanding of young onset dementia, its challenges and what can make a difference.
This two hour interactive workshop will consider:
- What is young onset dementia?
- What kinds of dementia do people with young onset dementia experience?
- What are the particular challenges facing people with a diagnosis of young onset dementia?
- What types of support and opportunities are available for people with this diagnosis, and how can this make a difference?
- Practicalities of employment and welfare benefits
The Dementia Training team at Age Scotland have developed a new suite of workshops aimed at members of the Dementia Friendly Communities Network. This is a network of Scottish dementia friendly communities sharing support, empowerment and inspiration with people living with dementia and unpaid carers, in their own community.
You are welcome to join these workshops as an individual or as a member of group/community organisation (even if you’re not yet a member of the Dementia Friendly Communities Network). To learn more about the work of the network, see Dementia Friendly Communities Network (ageuk.org.uk)
For the other workshops in this series, please see our Dementia Training calendar: Dementia training calendar (ageuk.org.uk)
This online workshop will take place using Zoom. We look forward to welcoming you to our event.
